Independence day, otherwise known as the 4th of July, is my favorite holiday of the year. The obvious reason I like Independence day is that we get to do fireworks and blow stuff up. Another reason I like the 4th of July is we get to show our patriotism. We get to show how much we love our country and that is why democrats hate this day. Some interesting facts about this day are: The stars on the original American flag were in a circle so all the Colonies would appear equal, the white house held its first 4th of July party in 1801, and barbecue is also big on Independence Day. Approximately 150 million hot dogs and 700 million pounds of chicken are consumed on this day.
